Areas of expertise
Experiential Learning
I specialize in designing learning experiences that go beyond traditional instruction and connect learning with real-world exploration. Experiential learning allows learners to actively engage with ideas through projects, challenges, and meaningful experiences rather than simply receiving information. By encouraging exploration, reflection, and collaboration, experiential learning helps develop deeper understanding, confidence, and a sense of ownership over the learning process.
Project-Based Learning
Project-based learning allows learners to explore complex ideas through inquiry, creativity, and collaboration. I design interdisciplinary projects that encourage learners to investigate real-world questions, work together to solve problems, and develop both academic knowledge and essential life skills. Through project-based learning, learners are able to connect their interests and passions with meaningful learning experiences that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
Student Agency and Learner-Centered Education
I believe that meaningful learning happens when people feel empowered to take ownership of their learning journey. My work focuses on creating environments where learners are encouraged to ask questions, make decisions, explore their interests, and reflect on their growth. By supporting learner agency, education becomes more engaging, relevant, and motivating.
Social-Emotional Learning and Wellbeing
Learning and emotional wellbeing are deeply connected. My work integrates social-emotional development into learning environments by fostering psychological safety, emotional awareness, and meaningful relationships. By creating environments where people feel safe, seen, and understood, learners are more able to engage, take risks, and develop confidence in themselves and their abilities.
Neuroscience and Learning
I am deeply interested in understanding how the brain learns and how emotions influence the learning process. Drawing from neuroscience and psychology, I focus on creating learning environments that support attention, motivation, curiosity, and emotional safety. Understanding how the brain works allows educators to design experiences that are not only engaging but also aligned with how learning naturally happens.
Coaching, Mentoring, and Professional Growth
I believe that meaningful growth often happens through reflection, conversation, and supportive guidance. Throughout my work in education, I have enjoyed mentoring students and supporting educators as they explore new ideas, reflect on their practice, and develop confidence in their abilities. Coaching and mentoring create space for individuals to recognize their strengths, navigate challenges, and continue growing both personally and professionally. By fostering open dialogue and thoughtful support, I aim to help others develop their potential and pursue learning with curiosity and purpose.
